POLICIES AND PROCEDURES COMMITTEE MINUTES
May 18th meeting at Goose Rocks Fire Station, 7pm
Attendance: Leo Martin, Bob McCrillis, Dave Koester, Bob Sullivan, Selectmen’s representative.
The committee reviewed and discussed a draft of the Town of Kennebunkport Ethics Code Policy. Much of the language of this policy was adopted from the Rangely, Maine , Ethics Code Policy. Dave Koester will contact the Town of Rangely to ensure that they do not have a problem with this.
Additional sections to be added to the Ethics Code Policy include how the employee or public official is educated on the content of the policy and the mechanism of handling complaints/violations. Dave Koester will work on this and submit to the committee a final draft of the policy to be voted on at the next meeting.
The committee also discussed briefly a strategy to begin looking at health benefit options for the Town. Bob McCrillis will lead the charge on this issue. The first step will be to educate the committee on the possible options. All committee members will look for articles/web sites that might be of use and pass on these references to the rest of the committee for initial discussions at the June meeting.
The next meeting is June 15th, 7pm at Goose Rocks Fire Station. Agenda will include going over the draft of the Ethics Code Policy and initial discussion of health benefits options..
