Kennebunk River Committee
Meeting Minutes -September 18, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by J. Beck (Chair)
Minutes of August 21, 2007 meeting read and approved



Old Business

"       Pump out barge update.
-       Bob Williamson will procure pump, complete project, submit bill to Town of Kennebunk. .
-        In support of project, Joel Beck is available to meet with Town of Kennebunk, if necessary.

"       Watershed Committee.
-       Joel Beck will report watershed committee readings at the October 2007 KRC Meeting.  
  
"       Dock Ordinance.
-       Discussion of (3) new docks on Kennebunk River that were not subject for review by the KRC Committee.
-       Joel Beck contacted Arundel & Kennebunk CEO to ask why the KRC did not review the dock permits; CEO's to get back with Joel Beck.

"       Buoy Placement

-       Option One: KRC Member, Grant Nelson to draft letter to Coast Guard discussing concerns of buoy # 12A & 8 placements in Kennebunk River.
-       Option Two: Harbor Master, James Nadeau to relocate mooring west of buoy # 12A if Option One fails.  



 New Business

"       Bellatrix Sailing Charter

-       Bellatrix sailing vessel owner Mr. James Jannetti requested permission to address the KRC , permission granted. Mr. Jannetti expressed concerns of being denied access to Governors Warf (Town Landing) for the purpose of loading and unloading chartered passengers.
-       KRC will look into complaint, rules and regulations, and respond back to Mr. Jannetti with a written notice.

"       KRC Priority Goals & Objectives
 
-       Protection of Commercial Fishing Industry on Kennebunk River.  
-       Public Access to River
-       Water Quality; see Pump out barge project come to fruition.
-        Review Long Term Plans of possible future dredging projects.      
 
Harbor Master Report

All is well on the river. James Nadeau to review all ordinances and zoning regulations for use of  Governors Warf (Town Landing) and report back to KRC at October 2007 Meeting

Note:   October Meeting to be held at Washing Hose Company, 2nd Floor at 7:00 PM. 10/16/07.   


No other Business - Vote to adjourn at 8:30 p.m.
