VHF Channel 16 Monitored
The Kennebunkport pier is located in the Cape Porpoise Harbor off Pier Road. The harbor is home to approximately 120 moorings, with the majority used by commercial fishermen. The harbor is protected from the ocean by a number of small islands, with the Goat Island Light marking the entrance to the harbor. At low tide there is a depth of 8' at the pier.
Moorings are available on a first-come, first served basis, with preference given to
commercial fishermen and homeowners with at least 100' of shore frontage. At present there are over 50 mooring applications on the waiting list with only 7 being issued in the past 13 years. Each year those on the waiting list are contacted by mail and must reply within 30 days or risk forfeiting their position on the list. There is no charge for either a mooring registration fee or mooring fee.
Pier membership is required for all who wish to tie up to the pier for loading and offloading, temporary minor repairs and refueling. Electricity and water are available to members at no additional charge. Fuel is available to all visiting boats during regular hours, and to members 24 hours per day through the use of a Keegard fueling system. Also available to members is a punt float for dinghy tie-up. Commercial membership is $505 per year, with small boat and recreational membership at $230 per year.
Mooring permits may be picked up at the Harbormaster's office at the pier.
