Q. How do I obtain a Shellfish Licenses?
A. Shellfish Licenses are available from the Town Clerk on January 2nd each year and are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are 100 recreational licenses available to Kennebunkport residents at a cost of $15.00 and 20 recreational licenses available to non-residents at a cost of $30.00. Daily recreational licenses are available to residents and non-residents at a cost of $15.00/day and entitles the holder to dig and take no more than one peck of shellfish in any one day for the use of himself and his family. The licenses is good only for the date stated on the license.
Complimentary licenses are available to Kennebunkport residents 65 years old or over.
Q. When/where may I harvest shellfish?
A. Shellfish may be harvested from the shores and flats of Kennebunkport daily. To find out what ares are open to harvesting, call the Town Clerk at 967-4243 ext. 110 because this information may change daily.
